Arthur "Larry" Chapman, JR
Chief Chapman served as Asst. Chief from 1982 – 1995 then took over as Fire Chief after the passing of Chief Downy in 1996, where he served until his retirement in 2003. Chief Chapman continues to be known as one of our communities’ finest citizens as he was always willing to help anyone in need. Chief Chapman tenure as Fire Chief saw department improvements such as:
· Fire Districts Fire Service Truck & cascade system
· ISO Score Improvement
· Departments First Automatic External Defibulator for cardiac arrest emergencies.
· Contributed to the design of the current fire district headquarters.
· Relaunch of the Ladies Auxiliary support team
· Supported initiative to add some of the first Part Time daytime firefighters to help support during time of low volunteer availability.
